How to Find Your Router’s IP Address and Default Gateway

Finding your router’s IP address is relatively simple. The IP address is found on the right-hand side of your router. It will also tell you the WAN IP address and Default gateway. You can use these addresses to configure your router or access its firmware. The IP address is also displayed on your computer’s network card.

WAN is your router’s IP address

If you’re not sure what your WAN is, it is the IP address assigned to your router by your service provider. The WAN IP address changes once in a while, depending on your ISP. Most home routers allow you to change this address, though some require that you enter the MAC address or IP address of another device. Cable modems and DSL modems get a unique WAN IP address each time they connect, but this address is usually static and does not change very often.

If you don’t know your WAN IP address, you can find it by logging into your wireless router. You will be prompted to enter your username and password. If you are using a Linksys router, all the settings will be displayed on the same page. From there, you should find the WAN IP address under the Ethernet adapter category.

In addition to WAN and LAN addresses, there are two other types of IP addresses. LAN addresses are private and used only by devices on your network. Unlike public IP addresses, they cannot be used to access your computer remotely. In addition, LAN IP addresses are used to configure your router’s settings via the web interface.

Username and password for accessing router’s firmware

If you can’t find the username and password for your router, check for a link to the router’s website. You can save the firmware to your computer or update it automatically. You can also visit the manufacturer’s website to find out the model number of your router and access it from there. However, you should make sure that you’re downloading the correct firmware, as using the wrong version could result in hardware problems.
